Construction Images
Time-lapse photo
display (:45)
Jefferson City photographer Thomas G. Cooper carried his heavy glass-plate camera to the top floor of the Missouri Supreme Court building every two weeks during the construction of the present Capitol. Most of the photographs were re-discovered in the
1980s in some boxes in the Capitol basement. The photographs and the records are now in the care of the state archives, which provided us with these images.

been collecting post cards of the Capitol during his long career as a reporter covering state government. He's always on the lookout for others, especially older ones, and would welcome contributions to the collection which will be added to this web page.
