Last week after an OTA session, Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was asked a simple question about first round pick Patrick Mahomes…if he caught any passes yet from the rookie?  Maclin went off on a tangent about how this was Alex Smith’s team.  Hmm, defensive are we?  Finally someone in the media had the nerve to ask one of the players if they felt they needed to publicly support Smith.  Mitch Morse gives his response.

First major league start?  No problem…Facing Justin Verlander?  “Bring it on baby.”  That’s the exact response I want to hear from a young pitcher.  I don’t want to hear about a guy who had butterflies in his stomach. I want a pitcher who isn’t afraid to stare down tough challenges and that’s exactly what Eric Skoglund did for Kansas City last night.

Kathy Griffin apologized for her bloodied Trump head photo and a sportswriter apologizes for a real dumb tweet, but it’s too late…he’s fired.
