Russell Woods battles for a loose rebound as the Tigers take on 20th ranked Arizona

Cold shooting in the second half by the Missouri Tigers turned a four-point game into a laugher as 20th ranked Arizona finished with a 79-60 win early Saturday afternoon at Mizzou Arena.

The Tigers drop to 5-4 on the season.

The Tigers were down 33-18 with 6:36 left in the first half after 7-footer Lauri Markkanen hit a three-pointer, but Mizzou finished the half on an 18-8 run to close to within five at the half.

Just under four minutes into the second half, Kevin Puryear’s three-pointer made it a 45-41 game and the Tigers had a chance got get it to a one possession game, but Russell Woods missed a dunk and Cullen VanLeer missed a short shot in the lane.  Arizona extended their lead to 14 with 8:02 to play as the Wildcats went on a 24-4 run.

The Tigers were held without a field goal for ten minutes and were 4-of-18 shooting in the second half when they ended an Arizona run of 21-0.
