No. 18 Mizzou Volleyball (26-5) advanced to the second round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament on Thursday, sweeping Northern Illinois (25-16, 25-13, 25-20) in straight sets.  The Tigers now 26-5 will advance to the second round tonight against Purdue. Back in to 2013, Mizzou was undefeated at this same point of the tournament and the Boilermakers knocked out the Tigers. First serve is at 6 p.m.

Other volleyball news:

Truman State made their 16th D-II appearance. They were swept by 15th ranked Ferris State. Rockhurst also swept 3-0 by Saginaw Valley.

Missouri State opens Friday evening in Manhattan, KS when they face Ohio State.  If they win, they’ll play Kansas St./Lipscomb on Saturday.
