The St. Louis Blues rallied from a 1-0 deficit early in the third period to tie the game and then with 42 second left in the five-minute overtime period, Vladimir Tarasenko scored to give the Blues a 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, Saturday night at Scottrade Center.

The win was just the Blues second in six games and Carter Hutton helped cool off a Columbus team that was rolling into St. Louis after a 10-0 win over Montreal on Friday night.

Defenseman Jay Bouwmeester blasted a shot past Columbus goalie Curtis McElhinney from the left dot at 2:16 of the third with his first goal since last February.  Then in overtime, Tarasenko went around Brandon Saad and beat McElhinney from inside the circle.

Tarasenko’s wrister with 43 seconds on the clock in overtime broke his seven-game goal-scoring drought.

Carter Hutton stopped 20 shots for his second win of the season, helping the Blues improve to 4-1-1 at home this season and give them five wins in the last six meetings with the Blue Jackets at Scottrade Center.
