Secretary of State Jason Kander (D) says the $1 million in grant funding will increase election efficiency across Missouri. Kander has directed his office to assist local election authorities with grants for improvements such as maintaining Internet service, voter registration list maintenance, training and polling place accessibility.

Local election authorities in Missouri can apply for the grants. Kander spokeswoman Stephanie Fleming tells Missourinet the Secretary of State’s office also made funding available last year.

Kander’s office announced the funding this week, while addressing the Missouri Association of County Clerks and Election Authorities.
