Mizzou Athletics points out that 2017 will be the first year since 1908 that the Tigers football team will open the season with four straight home games.  The SEC released the schedules for next year and fans really get a great slate of home games with not much fluff.

The home opener next year is against Missouri State and the return of one-time defensive coordinator Dave Steckel who should be starting his third year with the Bears.  Then Mizzou hosts SEC rival South Carolina, Big Ten opponent Purdue and for the first time since their second SEC title game appearance, they’ll host Auburn to round out September.

After two weeks on the road at Kentucky and Georgia, homecoming is always a fun day and the opponent is punching bag Idaho.  That’s the lone stinker game, but good job of tucking that into homecoming week.  After their final non-con road game at UCONN, the Tigers come home for Florida and Tennessee.

Vandy never really draws interest, so it’s great to play them on the road and then the yearly Friday game is at Arkansas rounds out the schedule.

Mizzou fans will have great football matchups in great weather for next year.
