Stephen Piscotty scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error in the top of the ninth inning as the Cardinals got past the Brewers 6-5 at Miller Park on Monday night.

Randal Grichuk’s two-run homer in the eighth tied the game for St. Louis.  The offense continues to supply power.  Jedd Gyorko and Kolten Wong also went long for the win.

Miguel Socolovich picked up his first win and Seung Hwan Oh notched his 14th save. Carlos Martinez got a no-decision, but set a career high with 13 strikeouts.  He was 2-0 this year at Miller Park.

The Cardinals increased their lead to 1.5 games over Pittsburgh in the Wild Card as the Cubs rallied for an 8-7 win in 13 innings.

Chicago scored two runs in the 13th after Josh Harrison’s sac-fly had given Pittsburgh the lead. Jorge Soler forced extras with a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. Former Missouri Tigers Rob Zastryzny earned his first career win in relief
