Eric Hosmer’s two-run homer in the ninth inning helped send the Royals to a 4-1 win over the Tigers and three-game series sweep at Comerica Park on Wednesday night.

Alex Gordon tied the game with a solo homer in the eighth, and Drew Butera added an RBI single. Detroit starter Anibal Sanchez carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning.

Yordano Ventura pitched well in the no-decision, allowing one run, a solo homer to Victor Martinez, over 6.1 innings.  Matt Strahm got the win.

The Royals have won seven-of-eight and are back home tonight to begin a four-game series with the Twins at Kauffman Stadium. Dillon Gee will to start for KC, while Minnesota sends Tyler Duffey to the mound. First pitch is at 7:15 p.m.

The Royals are six-and-a-half games out an AL wild card spot.
