Danny Duffy, who struck out a team-record 16 at Tampa Bay in his last start, improved to 8-1 as he won his seventh straight decision, holding the Blue Jays to two runs over 6.2 innings in a Royals 4-2 win Saturday night at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals also ended a 10-game win streak by Blue Jay pitcher Aaron Sanchez.

The only damage done against Duffy was Devon Travis’ lead off home run for the second straight night. Travis also had an RBI single in the fifth after Kevin Pillar doubled.

Eric Hosmer’s two-out, two-run single in a three-run fifth that made it 3-2.  Raul Mondesi had an RBI triple in the sixth for his first extra-base hit in his 11th game in the majors.

This game was the first time the Royals scored more than three runs in the last ten.
