Republicans John Brunner, a businessman, and former House Speaker Catherine Hanaway of Warson Woods have conceded in the race for Missouri Governor. Two Republicans remain: Lt. Governor Peter Kinder and Navy SEAL Eric Greitens.

Greitens, a former Democrat, has remained near the top, while Kinder has trailed near the bottom most of the evening. Greitens defeated Hanaway in St. Louis County, which is where Hanaway is from. Kinder beat Greitens in Cape Girardeau and Stoddard counties. Kinder is from Cape Girardeau.

The winner will face Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster in November.

Koster claimed victory early Tuesday evening. He spoke to Missourinet following his win and cited fiscal responsibility, expanding gun rights and funding rural schools and rural hospitals as some of his priorities if he becomes Governor. Koster is a former Republican.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon (D) can’t seek re-election because of term limits.
