Johnny Gomes played in 12 games for the Royals during 2015. He was not invited to the White House

On Thursday, the Royals are headed to the White House to meet President Obama to be honored for their 2015 World Series title, but Johnny Gomes wasn’t invited to the celebration, and he feels slighted.

“Being from a military background, being patriotic … I think that is one of the most epic rewards of winning a championship, getting that honor to go to the White House, be on stage, hang with the President.”

According to Fox Sports, the Royals  decided to include players who were with the team for the entire season or members of their postseason roster.

Gomes played in just 12 regular season games and was not on the postseason roster when the club beat Houston, Toronto and New York for their first World Series title since 1985.  Gomes did have the most memorable speech of the whole championship rally. (Watch below)
