Jamie Garcia and Matt Holliday led the St. Louis Cardinals to a series opening 7-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium Friday night.
Holliday went two for four and drove in three runs.
Garcia threw eight solid innings for St. Louis allowing one run on four hits. He struck out six and walked four.
The Cardinals snapped a two game overall losing streak and a seven game skid at home.
