George Springer hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning off Kevin Siegrist and Carlos Gomez’ two-run single off Trevor Rosenthal made it a 4-1 final. The Astros won both games in this short series.
The positive is that it appears Adam Wainright has rediscovered himself. While he has always pitched well against Houston, He went seven innings of four-hit shutout ball and was in line for the win after Greg Garcia hit an RBI single off Collin McHugh for a 1-0 lead.
