The FBI and Dunbar Armored are offering a combined $70,000 reward for information that helps recover money stolen in the April 4 armed robbery of a Dunbar Armored vehicle in St. Louis.
This white 1993 4-door Buick LeSabre is believed to have been used in the Dunbar Armored truck robbery April 4, 2016. It was set on fire the morning after the robbery.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the driver of that truck, 30-year-old Shayne Kier Jones, and another man, 34-year-old Charles Edward Johnson, were charged with conspiracy to interfere with commerce by threats of violence. Both men are from St. Louis.
An attorney for Jones told the Dispatch he had heard from investigators that $2-million was taken in that robbery, but the FBI would not confirm the amount taken.
FBI Supervisory Special Agent Dan Netemyer hopes the reward will get someone to step forward with information.
“We feel that there are some people who may be sitting on the sidelines on this case who may have some knowledge regarding where some of the money that was stolen may be,” said Netemeyer. “Some people may have been involved in it, some people

may have knowledge in it, and what we’re looking for in this situation is for someone to come forward before we would eventually make our way to them. Sort of give them a chance to take some of that dirty money and make it clean with the reward that’s being offered.”
The Dispatch reports Jones said he was threatened by “unknown people” to participate in the robbery and Johnson allegedly recruited another man. After the robbery the money was taken away in a white Buick, a picture of which the FBI released Tuesday.
The money was divided into three shares. Johnson is believed to have taken two.
“We have the people who were involved in the robbery. We’ve identified all of them, but there still is a large amount of money that is unaccounted for,” said Netemeyer.
