Adam Wainwright said his curveball and sinker were the best it’s been all season and he could feel it right away in the bullpen.  There were some shaky moments, but nothing fell apart as he threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball, allowing six hits as the Cardinals beat the Rockies 2-0 on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium.  Wainwright has won his last four decisions to improve to 4-3 as his ERA dropped to 5.92.

“It’s very hard not to know kind of where you’re at because people will tell you,” Wainwright said. “Somebody will text you you’re whole stat line. I know I’ve got probably 20-something more starts and a lot of really, really good things can happen.”

Wainwright gave up a leadoff triple that the Rockies failed to convert to a run in the first, he worked around runners on first and second in the third, and gave up a leadoff double to start the fourth.  Wainwright was able to keep Colorado off the board.  He discusses his night.  Give a listen below.
