“I want to sleep on what I’m going to do,” Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said following the Game 6 loss, on whether he’ll start Brian Elliott or Jake Allen in Dallas. “I’ll let you know on the game day.”

There should be no doubt that Brian Elliott needs to lead this team on the ice at American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.  Elliott is the reason the team is this far in the playoffs.  Elliott was hot down the stretch with Allen last making a start on April 3rd.  Allen only saw seven shots while Dallas was back on their heels.

Elliott continued that hot play in the first round of the playoffs against Chicago and continues to play solid in this series.  Breakdowns in front of him led to the quick deficit on Monday.

If Hitch goes with Allen and the Blues are on their heels again, Game 7 could look uglier than Game 6.  Elliott needs to the get the call and if another message needs to get sent to the team, there should be a quick hook.
