Brandon Drury, Yadier Molina, the home plate umpire and grandpa watch Drury’s homer in the fourth

Chris Herrmann and Brandon Drury homered off Michael Wacha and the St. Louis bats were held in check by Rubby De La Rosa as the Cardinals leave Arizona with a split following their 3-0 loss on Thursday night.

With the exception of the home runs, Wacha didn’t pitch all that bad.  Wacha went seven innings, struck out nine and walked two…one was intentional.  The home runs were the first two he’s allowed this season as he gave up three runs and five hits.

The first home from Herrmann was just a nice swing on a good pitch down and away.  Wacha got the pitch at the bottom of the zone where he wanted and Herrmann just flipped hit bat on it.  I’ll call it a cheap one.

Watch Herrmann’s two run homer.

The homer given up to Drury was on the inner part of the plate and he didn’t miss it,  His third of the year made it 3-0 in the fourth.  Nothing cheap about this blast. (VIDEO/MLB.com)
