Cardinals backup catcher Eric Fryer had three hits, including a go-ahead double with two outs in the eighth inning during Sunday’s 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds 4-3. Fryer got his first start this season and is 6 for 6 at the plate.

Matt Carpenter and Jedd Gyorko hit solo homers who finished with ten in this three game series against the Reds.

Michael Wacha allowed one earned run while giving up three in six innings.  Kevin Siegrist got the win (2-0) and struck out Zack Cozart to end the seventh and pitched a 1-2-3 eighth, getting two more K’s.  Trevor Rosenthal struck out two batters in the ninth for his third save.
