Mizzou baseball (18-13, 2-7) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on its way to a 9-6 victory over SIUE (4-21) on Tuesday (April 5). The team scored in each of the first four innings for the first time this season to build a 9-0 lead after four.  Senior 1B Zach Lavy (Auxvasse, Mo) drove in three of the first seven runs with a triple in the first inning and a sacrifice fly in the third, giving him a team leading 29 RBI this year. Lavy now has a team-leading eight games with multiple RBI.

Missouri State broke a 42-year-old school record by drawing 18 walks and matched its season high for runs scored in a 15-4 victory over Saint Louis at Hammons Field. Alex Jefferson provided a key blow early with a two-out, three-run double in the first inning, while the freshman duo of Jeremy Eierman and Hunter Steinmetz combined to draw five walks and score six runs on the night.

Down 2-1 to Arkansas State (13-15) in the bottom of the eighth inning, pinch hitter Chris Osborne’s three-run home run lifted Southeast Missouri (21-8) to a 4-2 win, keeping the Redhawks’ winning streak alive. The Redhawks’ winning streak is extended to 11 games with the win over the Red Wolves.
