“This type of vandalism attacks everyone,” said University of Missouri Interim Chancellor Hank Foley. His reaction comes as officials investigate the discovery of a flyer saying “Hitler Rules”. The anti-Semitic message was found Monday morning on a bulletin board at Gateway Hall on the Columbia campus.

Another anti-Semitic act investigated at University of Missouri

Foley’s statement released today, along with Interim Vice Chancellor for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Chuck Henson, said the act angers them.

“Our core values—including that of Respect—must become more than words on paper or a banner. They are the foundation of who we desire to be as a campus community and the way we all need to conduct ourselves,” said Foley.

The MU Police Department and the Office for Civil Rights and Title IX are leading the investigation.

A couple of anti-Semitic markings were found in dorms last year, part of the buildup to racial demonstrations on campus in November.

Anti-Semitic graffiti was found twice last April in Mark Twain residence hall. Someone also used feces to draw a swastika on a restroom wall in October.
