Before fans could even sit down in their seats, Arkansas had a 6-0 lead before the Mizzou men’s basketball team got on the board.  Just over six minutes into the game, the Tigers were down 16-4 on their way to a disappointing 94-61 loss to Mike Anderson and the Razorbacks.

“I’m embarrassed,” Missouri coach Kim Anderson said. “I thought we had played pretty well the other night against Auburn, but tonight, we didn’t respond very well early in the game.”

“I’m embarrassed,” Missouri coach Kim Anderson said. “I thought we had played pretty well the other night against Auburn, but tonight, we didn’t respond very well early in the game.”

Moses Kingsley had 24 points, five rebounds and four blocks. Kingsley made 8 of 8 from the field and converted on 8 of 10 free-throw attempts. He also had three assists, matching a career high.  Kingsley showed why Kevin Puryear, while he may be Mizzou’s leading scorer, has a lot of work to do on the defensive end, who spent part of the time trying to guard Kingsley.

“He’s a good player. We just didn’t do a good enough job containing him inside. When we head to Bud Walton (Arena) we need to pay more attention and make him more of a focal point.”

Freshman guard Terrence Phillips, celebrating his 20th birthday, matched his career-high with 16 points.   Columbia native Jimmy Whitt returned to Columbia and scored a career high 15 off the bench for the Hogs.
