St. Louis native and Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott finished with 149 yards on 27 carries with four touchdowns, which tied a Fiesta Bowl record as the Buckeyes beat Notre Dame 44-28. Elliott is projected as a first-round pick in the NFL draft. Mizzou, had five rushing touchdowns all season, Elliot had four yesterday.

The SEC is having a great bowl season with a 6-2 record so far.

The biggest game, #2 Alabama 38-0 over #3 Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl playoff semifinal.

Earlier in the week, LSU, Auburn, Mississippi State all won. Texas A & M is the only SEC west team to lose so far.

On New Year’s Day, Tennessee beat Northwestern 45-6 in the Outback Bowl. Florida lost big to Michigan 41-7 at the Citrus Bowl and Ole Miss took care over Oklahoma State 48-20 in the Sugar Bowl.

Two more games Saturday. Georgia plays Penn State in the Taxslayer Bowl in Jacksonville. Arkansas plays K-State in the Liberty Bowl.

Alabama will play Clemson for the National Championship in Glendale, Arizona on Monday, January 11th.
