I’m pretty sure the Missouri women’s basketball team could score at least 30 against their male counterparts. That wasn’t the case for the 2-12 Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions. They shot 8 of 52 from the floor as Mizzou blew out UAPB 78-25, in the second half of a double-header at Mizzou Arena on Tuesday night.
Six of UAPB’s field goals came from three-point range. They were only 3-of-15 from the free throw line.
Kevin Puryear scored 13, Wes Clark had 11 in the first half as Kim Anderson emptied his bench. Even Adam Wolf, a 6’7 freshman from Beaver Creek, WI. and Jimmy Barton a 5’9 walk-on from DeSmet High School saw playing time. Wolf had six points, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal in five minutes of playing time.
Mizzou outrebounded UAPD 56-30. Russell Woods, who made his first career start, matched his career high with 10 boards. Jakeenan Gant had a career high 11 rebounds.
The Tigers (6-6), wrap up non-conference play Saturday against Savannah State.
