Paul Stastny was all smiles following his game winning goal in Winnipeg

Paul Stastny’s goal with 3:38 remaining completed the Blues’ come-from-behind 4-3 win against the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre on Tuesday.  Vladimir Tarasenko, who scored a power play goal to tie the game in the opening minute of the third, started a 2-on-1 rush and laid a nice pass across to Stastny  who beat Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck for his third goal of the season.

Stastny tucked it in above the glove, just under the crossbar.

The Blues were playing their fourth game in six nights.  Blues coach Ken Hitchcock loved the effort.

“It’s a gutsy, very impressive win for me,” said Hitch.

Tarasenko and Alex Steen each had a goal and two assists, both scoring on the power play after the team was down 3-1 late in the second period.

“We had momentum the whole time,” Stastny said of the power play. “We had chances. Even if we weren’t scoring, we were building off that. For us … feeling the puck, moving the puck, kind of getting into that groove is big when you haven’t been scoring a lot of goals lately.”
