Gordon Wittenmyer, the Cubs beat writer for the Chicago Sun-Times has tweeted that multiple sources indicate Jason Heyward has chosen the Chicago Cubs over the Cardinals and Washington Nationals.

This tweet came out just shortly after noon on Friday.

Heyward was a Gold Glove winner each of the past two seasons (one with the Braves and one with the Cardinals). The 26-year-old hit .293 with 13 home runs and 60 RBIs in 154 games for the Cardinals last season.

According to Fox Sports, Washington bid $200 million for Heyward, and it is also believed that the Cardinals, also offered $200 million, meaning Heyward took less money to play for the Cubs.
