On his third pass attempt of the game, Drew Lock looked for Wesley Leftwich near the Mizzou sideline at midfield, but the pass was intercepted. It was Tennessee’s first interception by a cornerback this season.

Michael Scherer stopped Jalen Hurd for a one yard loss on third and three to force a 35 yard field goal for a 3-0 lead for Tennessee with 8:19 left in the first.

Corey Fatony, Mizzou’s freshman punter, had two bad punts in the quarter. The first went 26, the second 30, giving Tennessee the ball at Mizzou’s 40. A seven play drive ended in a 25 yard field goal.

The Tigers were held to 18 total yards on four possessions.
