Mats Zuccarello, Derick Brassard and Kevin Hayes scored in the first period, and the Rangers beat the St. Louis Blues 6-3 on Thursday night for their seventh straight victory. Zuccarello finished with three points and leads the team with 15.  That three goal outburst chased Jake Allen from the nets, as Ken Hitchcock went with Brian Elliott as the Blues nearly rallied to tie.

Allen came into the game with a shutout streak of 165:59. Brassard ended that 4:54 into the game on a pass from behind the net by Zuccarello.  Shortly after that, Zuccarello made it 2-0 with his eighth of the season. Hayes’ goal with 5:22 left in the period pushed the lead to 3-0 and on came Elliott.

Dmitrij Jaskin, Vladimir Tarasenko and Troy Brouwer scored for the Blues, which had won three in a row. The Blues fell to 11-4-1.
