The Royals pulled a little magic from 2014 out of their back pockets this afternoon at Kauffman Stadium, coming from behind to beat the Houston Astros 5-4 to even up their American League Division Series at 1-1.

The Royals rallied against Astros lefty Scott Kazmir and the bullpen in the sixth to tie the score at 4-4.  Lorenzo Cain hit a double to right with one out to knock Kazmir from the game, then Eric Hosmer blooped a single to left off Oliver Perez to score Cain.

Perez got Hosmer down, 0-2, but Hosmer was able to bloop a single into shallow left to score Cain.  Kendrys Morales followed with a single to right and Perez walked Mike Moustakas. Josh Fields came on for Houston and walked Salvador Perez on four pitches, scoring the tying run.

Ben Zobrist singled in the go-ahead run off Astros reliever Will Harris, scoring Alcides Escobar, and the Royals’ bullpen tossed three scoreless innings.
