Carlos Carrasco gave up a home run to Alex Gordon on his first pitch of the game, but then pitched six strong innings, and Lonnie Chisenhall drove in three runs as the Cleveland Indians beat theRoyals 8-3 on Monday night.

Edinson Volquez (13-8) allowed four runs in five innings for Kansas City, which has lost eight of 10, while Gordon was 4 for 5.  The Royals closed to 4-3 in the seventh on a pair of infield singles by Gordon and Ben Zobrist, but Kelvin Herrera was tagged for three runs in the bottom of the inning.

Carrasco (13-10) let Alex Gordon hit his first pitch deep into the seats in right field, but that was the only run he allowed. The right-hander, who struck out nine, was making his second start since coming off the disabled list with a sore right shoulder.
