After another good punt by Arkansas State, the Tigers started with the ball at their own 10.  On a third and 11, Mauk rolled to his right and threw a ball up for grabs that was intercepted at midfield by Bo Sentimore who returned it 45 yards to the Mizzou five.

On third and goal Fredi Knighten found Tres Houston for a seven-yard touchdown to give Arkansas State the 7-3 lead.

On the Tigers next possession, Drew Lock got his chance, but his first attempt came in a little hot and was tipped into the hands of Matt Humes who took the ball into Tiger territory on a 19 yard return.

Arkansas State challenged a 4th and short call at the Tiger 20 and the play was upheld.  The  Redwolves went for it and got the first down, then Michael Gordon broke off an 18 yard run down to the Tigers two.  Mizzou held them to a field goal, but Arkansas State converted two turnovers into ten points.

After a Mizzou punt, Knighten was pressured by Charles Harris and he threw a pick, taken back by John Gibson to the Arkansas State 11.  On the next play, Mauk found Nate Brown wide open for a game tying touchdown with 4:08 to play in the first half.

Houston caught his second touchdown of the night with a tip-toed catch in the end zone in the closing seconds of the first half, completing a 12-play 63 yard drive for his second touchdown of the night.
