Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel told Drew Lock after Saturday’s game against Southeast Missouri State to enjoy that touchdown pass he threw to Tyler Hunt in the fourth quarter.
“He’ll never have a guy that wide open in the history of college football,” said Pinkel with a grin at his Monday afternoon press conference.
Pinkel was impressed with Lock’s poise and how he handled himself, basically playing the same way he performed through fall camp.
For Lock, he told me doesn’t like taking sacks. Â That’s one area he wants to fix and what may be the biggest adjustment going from high school to college. Â The rush comes much quicker. Lock also talked about his mentor during fall camp. Â It was third string quarterback Eddie Printz, the guy he beat out for the backup role. Lock talks about how Printz handled the news of Lock finishing ahead of him and how both players are able to separate competition from friendship.
