On his first run of the season, Russell Hansbrough broke a 20-year run and at the end of the play, got his leg rolled up from a SEMO tackler. Hansbrough was on the ground for a couple of minutes before hobbling to the trainer’s table.  He came back in the game.

Three plays later, Maty Mauk hit J’Mon Moore on a 27-yard strike to give the Tigers a quick lead on their opening drive that went five plays, 64 yards.

On a third and seven from the SEMO 33, Mauk was under immediate pressure and rolled to his right and lofted a pass into double coverage that was picked off at the Redhawks’ six. A three and out by the SEMO offense gave #Mizzou great field position to set up another scoring drive.

With under five minutes to go in the quarter, Mauk laid another pass into the arms of Nate Brown in the exact same spot as the first TD for a 23-yard score.

SEMO was held eight total yards in the first quarter.  Mauk was 5 of 9 for 93 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
