Rookie outfielder Stephen Piscotty hit two homers,  the first multiple-homer game of his career, and added a career-high five RBIs, as the Cardinals spoiled the Padres’ sweep wishes, winning 10-3 on Sunday.

San Diego finishes the season 4-3 against the Cardinals…the only National League team with a winning record against the best team in the majors.

The day turned around a rather frustrating series for Piscotty up to that point.  He entered Sunday’s lineup 0-for-8 in the series with three strike outs while runners were in scoring position.

Jason Heyward had three hits as St. Louis improved its major league-leading record to 78-45 with Michael Wacha picking up his 15th win of the season.  He picked up his career-best win total by allowing just one run on four hits. He struck out three and walked two, while winning his fourth straight start.
