It’s not too late to be a part of the 2015 Show-Me STATE GAMES.  There are still plenty of sports that will take on-site registration including triathlon, 5K/10K road race, cycling, powerlifting, judo, track & field, archery, mini golf, mountain biking, wrestling, shooting events and more.  Below is the list of sporting events taking place over the next two weekends as well as a link back to the Show-Me State Games website with registration information.

The Show-Me STATE GAMES  is an Olympic-style sports festival with more than 40 sports for all ages and ability levels. In addition to the summer games, the Show-Me STATE GAMES offers events throughout the year to promote health, fitness, family and fun.

In 2014, 25,714 athletes competed in the summer GAMES and 34,056 participants took part in year-round events, meaning the GAMES brought more than 68,112 participants and spectators to Columbia.

Friday also offers up the Opening Ceremony in Columbia, but the day begins at 11 a.m. on the Capitol steps in Jefferson City with opening remarks and the start of a one-mile torch run through Jefferson City.  There have been several torch runs throughout the state. (watch the video below)

In the evening, those who are competing in the games can line up for the parade of athletes 6:30 outside Mizzou Arena and the Opening Ceremony starts at 7 p.m inside the arena with appearances by Mizzou athletets and Miss Missouri McKensie Garber. This event is free and open to the public.
