Randal Grichuk, Kolten Wong and Yadier Molina all homered as the Cardinals set season highs for runs and hits in a 12-4 rout of the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night.

The Cardinals exploded for 16 hits, including six for extra bases. Grichuk had three hits, Jhonny Peralta doubled and had three RBI, Mark Reynolds added a two-run double and a total of ten different Cardinals got hits.

Many outside of our area are going to try to pin the recent offensive struggles on the Houston hacking investigation being a distraction, but Cardinals Nation understands the offense has gone through mood swings like this before.

Plus, they were facing a pitcher in Felipe Aumont, who is 1-6 now lifetime with an ERA of 6.80 in four brief seasons.  The Quebec native, making his first major league start, walked seven and threw a wild pitch. Forty-eight of his 104 pitches were balls. Sacre bleu!

Tyler Lyons (2-0) won his second straight game, allowing three runs and seven hits in five innings with five strikeouts and one walk. He also helped himself with two singles, an RBI and scoring three runs.
