The Cardinals enter play tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers with near inverted records.  St. Louis is 33-17 and the Brewers 17-34 following their 17-inning win over Arizona.

Matt Garza was expected to start, but they needed his arm on Sunday, so Mike Fiers will start the series for a shorthanded staff. Jaime Garcia will make his third start.  Garcia faces the Brewers, a team he is 6-3 against in 12 career starts. He did not walk a batter in his last outing after issuing five free passes in his season debut.

We get a preview of the Brewers from Bill Scott of Wisconsin Radio Network.  He shares his thoughts on this series and the Central Division and I talk about the Cardinals “Big Six.”  It is essential these players perform well and stay healthy.  If they do, the club should have no problems repeating as Central Division champs.

Matt Carpenter .318, 8 HR 37 RBI
Jhonny Peralta .310, 8 HR 30 RBI
Matt Holliday .318, 24 RBI

Michael Wacha—7 wins, 2.27 ERA
Carlos Martinez—5 wins, 3.13 ERA
John Lackey—2.83 ERA
