Lorenzo Cain’s tie-breaking RBI double in the eighth, broke a 4-4 tie as the Royals scored three times in the eighth inning on their way to an 8-4 victory Friday over the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Cain hit Pedro Strop, driving in Mike Moustakas, who had walked to lead off the eighth. Two more Royals runs scored on an error by center fielderDexter Fowler, who dropped Omar Infante’s fly ball.

Alcides Escobar, Alex Gordon and Salvador Perez each hit solo homers off Chicago starter Jake Arrieta, who had only given up three home runs total in his nine previous starts.

Edinson Volquez got a no-decision tossing 5.2 innings while allowing three runs.  Kelvin Herrera gave up the tying run on a home run by Addison Russell in the seventh.  Herrera picked up the win as Wade Davis and Greg Holland pitched the eighth and ninth.
