A bases-clearing double by senior Zak Larkin in the top of the ninth inning broke open a 3-3 tie and the Bulldogs punch their ticket to the NCAA Div. II College World Series with a 6-3 victory against Ashland (Ohio) in the championship game of the Midwest regional. The victory capped a perfect 4-0 weekend on the Lindenwood University campus, as Truman beat Missouri schools, William Jewell and Drury.

The Bulldogs travel to Cary, N.C., with games beginning on Saturday, May 23.

This is Truman’s first College World Series appearance.  Truman has broken the previous school record for single-season wins (26) in their first guaranteed +.500 season since 1982.  The field will be set Monday evening.

The #24 ranked Webster University baseball team won the NCAA III Waterloo Regional with a 5-1 win over Carthage College (WI) on Sunday in Waterloo, IA. The Gorloks advance to their third NCAA III Championship ‘World Series’ in four years.

Webster swept the regional, going 4-0, and will now travel to Appleton, WI, on May 22 for the ‘World Series.’ The Gorloks will be one of eight teams vying for the championship in the double elimination format. Webster previously advanced to the ‘World Series’ in 2012 and 2013. Webster will face the #1 ranked Cortland State (NY) in first round action.

The Gorloks are 34-13 on the season.
