The Texas Rangers hit three home runs and drew six walks from Royals starter Danny Duffy, who traveled ahead of his team’s late Sunday night game with Detroit.  The Rangers won 8-2, but the Royals looked flat as expected following Sunday’s late game.

“It’s definitely a factor, but it’s all part of the grind,” first baseman Eric Hosmer said. “I don’t know if that was the reason. You’ve got to credit those guys. They played a good game over there, and Lewis pitched well.”

The Royals didn’t get into Dallas until 5:45 Monday morning.  Their swings looked tired against Colby Lewis who is off to a great start.

Lewis gave up three hits and two walks in seven innings while allowing one run.

Duffy was charged with six runs on five hits and the six walks.  He allowed one of the three Rangers’ homers as he was yanked in the fourth.

“I just couldn’t locate anything today. … Nobody feels worse than me. I cost my team a few games,” Duffy said.
