Class 1 Girls Semifinal
Southwest (Livingston County)-38
Walnut Grove will play for their third straight Class 1 title on Saturday. The Tigers held the Wildcats to just six points in the first half, going on a 23-0 run.
Class 2 Girls Semifinal
Crane, making their third trip in a row to the finals, had the second biggest margin of victory of 50 points. Walnut Grove had a 61-point victory last year.
Skyline advances to the finals for the second year in a row and will look for revenge on Crane after losing the Class 2 championship last season. This year the teams met and Skyline won 53-50.
Class 3 Girls Semifinal
Central Park Hills-60
Morgan Henderson scored 11 points for the Lady Bison to go for 2,000 career points, but it wasn’t enough to lead her team to the finals
Cardinal Ritter shot just 26% for the game including just 3 of 21 from three point range, but they used defense and taking enough shots, they scored enough. Boonville had the ball stolen 17 times and turned it over a total of 26 times and let a 26-16 halftime led get away.
Class 1 Boys Semifinal
Meadville shot 70% in the second half to improve to 31-0 on the season and return to the finals for the second year in a row.
Jordan Leonard led all scorers with 22 points on 8 of 15 shooting and 6 of 12 at the line.
Class 2 Boys Semifinal
Scott County shot 60% for the game and never trailed from the 5:38 mark of the first quarter. Senior Drake Kesler scored the Braves first 11 points, including 3 for 3 from three-point range. Javonta Daniel led the Braves with 21 points.
Class 3 Boys Semifinal
Central/New Madrid Co.-61
The Indians were outscored 18-5 in the third quarter, but rallied. Grant Boswell hit two free throws with 14 second left for the win.
Barstow was state runner up last year, back in the finals.
