St. Louis Blues goaltender Brian Elliott made 30 saves, and he had an assist on Jaden Schwartz’s game-winning goal in overtime to help the Blues defeat the Lightning 2-1 at Scottrade Center.

The Blues were finishing up their fourth game in six days.

The Lightning grabbed a 1-0 lead just 5:20 into the game, but Elliott came up with strong saves to keep it a one-goal until Vladimir Tarasenko tied it late with his 26th of the year.

With just over three minutes left in regulation, Paul Stastny won a faceoff to Tarasenko who let a wrist shot go from outside the top of the right circle and beat St. Louis native and Lightning goalie Ben Bishop high to the glove side to tie the game.

In overtime, Schwartz stickhandled his way through the defense and beat Bishop in tight.

Elliott leads the NHL with a 1.95 goals-against average and is fourth in save percentage at .929.  He is 8-0-1 in his past 10 starts (he was pulled in the first period of a 5-4 shootout win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 10).
