The final score was much better than the last meeting, but the Missouri Tigers were still concerned about another one in the loss column.  Mizzou lost 69-53, to No. 1 ranked Kentucky on Thursday night at Mizzou Arena. The top-ranked Wildcats proved to be too much as Missouri ran into foul trouble, having three players foul out.

Wes Clark finished the night with a career-high 19 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Jonathan Williams III recorded 10 points and five rebounds. It was the 14th time this season that Williams, III has scored in double figures.  Ryan Rosburg sparked the team in the first half with two monster dunks.

Mizzou led 17-16 with 7:25 remaining in the first, but Kentucky went on a 12-4 run to close the half and the Tigers trailed by just nine points at halftime, 34-25.  Then the refs got whistle happy.

The Wildcats opened the second period making good on 7-of-10 free throws in the first eight minutes. Clark and Williams III, kept the Tigers in the game with back to back three pointers to make it a 38-32 contest, but UK went on an 18-4 run to pull away.

Kentucky went 27 of 37 from the free throw line.

Missouri will wrap up a three-game homestand as they host Ole Miss at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31.
