the Inaugural Ball.  Pietzman promised that if he won the election, he would take her to the 2015 ball at the State Capitol.

Maddie was diagnosed with medulloblastoma on July 24th, 2013 and has undergone surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation to become cancer free.  Maddie’s mother reached out to Pietzman during his campaign to ask where he stands on childhood cancer and if he would be willing to be a voice at the State Capitol.

Pietzman did not want to make any promises he could not keep, but was inspired by her story and has remained close with Maddie and her family ever since.

Maddie and her family were on hand to watch Peitzman get sworn in with other members of the House in the House Chamber.  Maddie was introduced at the procession of the Inaugural Ball and honored with a resolution from the House.
