The mayor of Berkeley says more information will be released soon on the fatal shooting late Tuesday of 18-year-old Antonio Martin by one of his city’s police officers.

Mayor Theodore Hoskins told CNN that incident is a case of that officer acting, “to protect his self in the threat of his life, and for that reason it’s not only the city of Berkeley but the total community should be behind that officer.”

Hoskins says the investigation is continuing.

“We intend to hold a news conference Monday or Tuesday to disclose additional information that will substantiate the position that I’ve taken,” Hoskins said.

The St. Louis County Police Department has released videos from multiple angles showing the moments before and after Martin was shot:
