St. Louis Police have called in federal investigators in what they are calling a hate crime, in which a Bosnian woman was assaulted by three young black men or teenagers on Friday morning.

The attack happened in the same neighborhood in which a Bosnian man was killed with a hammer by a group of teens earlier in the week.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the woman’s car was stopped at gunpoint, she was pulled from the vehicle and kicked by the attackers who also destroyed her cell phone. She told police one of the three identified her as Bosnian and threatened, “I should just kill you now.”

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson told the Dispatch that based on that comment police have labeled the attack a hate crime.
