Fourth seeded Central Missouri was defeated 3-1 (17-25, 26-24, 14-25, 22-25) by fifth seed Wayne State in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional.

For the Jennies Carly Sojka led the way with a double-double racking up 17 kills and adding 12 digs. Maddie Jones had eight kills hitting .296 with eight blocks on the afternoon. Lauren Dudgeon had nine kills hitting .381 and Haley Thompson finished with seven kills.

Kourtney Thompson had a team high 34 assists as she finished with a  double-double adding 12 digs. Becca Blaise had a team leading 29 digs while Annie Reilly added 21 digs and Shelby Winkelmann had 16 digs.

Central Missouri wraps up their season with a 22-9 overall record.

Junior Abby Heise hit .733 with 12 kills, six block assists and a pair of digs, while senior Allie Brak added nine kills, eight digs, and two block assists of her own, as the top-seeded Truman State University volleyball team opened the 2014 NCAA Div. II tournament with a 3-0 (-19, -16, -11) sweep of McKendree (Ill.) University on Thursday afternoon.

Preecy Seever and Emily Ready combined for 29 kills and 10 blocks to power Rockhurst to a 3-2 victory over Indianapolis in the first round of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Thursday in Allendale, Mich.  Rockhurst (27-4) will play now face top-seeded Truman State (29-3) in the regional semifinals at 5:00 p.m. EST Friday.
