4th Quarter Recap

The Tigers answered the Indiana scored with a 71 yard drive capped by a one yard pass from Maty Mauk to tight end Sean Culkin. The score was set up thanks to a 19-yard pass from Mauk to Bud Sasser. Mauk had three defenders closing in and he threw off his back foot. Sasser made a great play to come back on the ball, giving the Tigers a first down at the 11.

Mizzou put together what looked like it could be the game winning drive late when Andrew Baggett kicked a 40 yard field goal with 2:20 to play.  That put the Tigers up 27-24 and gave them just their second lead of the game.

Indiana didn’t quit.  Nate Sudfeld was saved on a third down pass when pass interference was called.  The Hoosiers were just 1 of 14 on third down conversions, but that penalty kept their drive alive.  Sudfeld then hit running Tevin Coleman for a 44 yard pass and with a facemask penalty, it gave IU the ball at the Mizzou seven.  Two plays later, D’Angelo Roberts scored the game winner from three yards out.

The Tigers gained 498 yards of offense, but also committed ten penalties including five false starts.
