Defending MIAA regular season and volleyball tournament champion Central Missouri has been picked by the coaches to repeat again this season in the preseason poll released today. UCM received six first place votes as they came in five points ahead of last season’s co-regular season champion Washburn who received four first place votes.

Nebraska-Kearney has been picked to finish third and received two first place votes coming in just two points behind WU. Central Oklahoma has been selected fourth by the coaches with Emporia State coming in ten points behind them in the fifth place slot. Missouri Western is just eight points back and picked sixth this season.

Pittsburg State is just nine points back of MWSU in the seventh overall spot and are four points ahead of Northwest Missouri who comes in the eighth slot. Lindenwood has been selected by the coaches to finish ninth this season just four points ahead of Fort Hays State who is picked in the tenth spot.

Missouri Southern is picked to finish eleventh just one point ahead of Southwest Baptist who is picked to finish twelfth in the preseason coaches poll.

The season for most of the MIAA squads is scheduled to get underway on Sept. 5 as most will begin in early season tournament play away from home.
