Missouri State’s series with in-state rival Missouri will continue at a new venue this season as the Lady Bears and Tigers square off inside the Sprint Center in Kansas City on Dec. 30. The event is part of a doubleheader that also features the Missouri men playing Oklahoma State that evening, with a start time for the men’s game to be announced at a later date by the Southeastern Conference and ESPN. The women’s game will begin four hours prior to the men’s contest.

The game marks the third consecutive season the two teams have played after an eight-year layoff. Mizzou won in Columbia in 2012 while the Lady Bears grabbed a 67-53 victory at JQH Arena last season.

“We are excited about the opportunity to play in Kansas City at Sprint Center in a double header with our men’s team,” head coach Robin Pingeton said. “The support of our Mizzou fans in that area is tremendous and we expect an exciting environment playing an in-state rivalry game with Missouri State.”

“I believe the Missouri versus Missouri State match-up is a positive game on our schedule,” Missouri State head coach Kellie Harper said. “Our fans get excited about the in-state rivalry. We know that it is a competitive and challenging game, and playing in Kansas City gives us an opportunity to play in front of a new audience.”
